For the first CHIRON Group sustainability report, we created the basis for the company’s sustainability reporting in a strategic process in collaboration with Bosch Climate Solutions. The aim was to lay a solid foundation for future reporting and at the same time to develop a clear understanding of the relevant sustainability issues within the CHIRON Group. The report not only presents the progress made to date, but also serves as a guide for future measures in the areas of environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG).
The linchpin for this was identifying the key sustainability issues to ensure that reporting and the sustainability strategy are aligned with the most important areas of action. In a multi-stage, systematic process, all relevant stakeholders were first invited to take part in a comprehensive online survey. This survey was used to record key expectations, challenges and opportunities in relation to sustainability from various perspectives.
Following the subsequent evaluation and analysis of the feedback, in-depth interviews were conducted with key individuals from various divisions and external stakeholders. The result of this intensive dialog is the materiality matrix, a strategic tool that forms the framework for both sustainability management and reporting. It helps to define the CHIRON Group’s priorities in the area of sustainability and to derive targeted measures for continuous improvement.
On this basis, we developed a reporting concept with a page plan and prepared the content for the report in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). We have also given the report a harmonious layout concept in terms of design.
