The city of Ravensburg has set itself the goal of being climate-neutral by 2040 at the latest. This was unanimously decided by the municipal council in 2020. Small and large measures to reduceCO2 in various fields of action such as mobility, buildings, compensation and awareness raising are being planned – and many have already been implemented. For example, the climate-friendly e-bikes and some sustainable renovation measures in urban development.
The first step of the climate campaign was to pick up citizens, raise awareness of the project and encourage them to get involved. This was also what Lord Mayor Dr. Rapp wanted. With the motto “We shape the future of climate”, we have created a strong shared vision for the citizens. And that is: to make Ravensburg climate-neutral together.
The new kidney-shaped logo shows the sky above the flour sack, the emblem of the city of Ravensburg. The horizon runs from blue, the city color of Ravensburg, to green, which symbolizes the climate-friendly future. Our concise word-image brand manages to bundle the various measures of the climate consensus and also makes it possible to further develop messages in the future without losing recognition value.
Various large-format and city light posters in the new design adorn prominent locations in Ravensburg and attract attention: a general motif and other motifs for the specific areas of activity.
“Ideas space instead of parking space” is the motto of the poster we designed for Ravensburg Park(ing) Day. What’s behind it? Areas in the city of Ravensburg that are otherwise used as parking spaces were quickly converted into small gardens, concert stages, table tennis courts and exhibition spaces by Ravensburg residents. For one day, citizens were able to let their imaginations run wild in the parking lots and used them to relax, play and interact with each other.
The “Green Room”, a mobile planted trailer, also invited people and insects to relax and enjoy themselves on Ravensburg’s Marienplatz – and thus drew attention to Ravensburg’s climate mission. The special feature of the green room is the vertical greenery of leafy, flowering and sweet plants, which ensured cooler temperatures even on hotter days.
We developed branded saddle covers, cloth bags, seed bags and notepads as attractive give-aways, which are distributed to citizens at festivals and events in the city of Ravensburg.
